Your Contact Information

Any and all personal information collected on this site, or in person, is solely for use by the practitoner in order to contact you regarding appointments, updates, and promotions related to the practice.  Your information will not be given or sold to any third-party for any purpose.

Your Session Plans & Progress Notes

Massage therapists in Massachusetts must document certain sessions in detail, especially when a treatment plan is involved, and must retain client records for the required minimum periods. For minors, additional consent and retention rules apply.  All of these documents are maintained by the therapist in a locked file that is not shared by others at any location.

Any notes made for services outside the realm of massage and bodywork that is not regulated by or required by the state are maintained with the same level of care and discretion and are made only for reference and tracking of progress with any given client's goals.

Discussions and Disclosure of Treatment

All personal and private information discussed in a massage and bodywork session, or shared with the practitioner in the course of a shamanic counseling session or other treatment setting will remain confidential.

The only exception to this being the MA duty to warn and duty to protect: if in the course of treatment the provider learns of a credible threat of harm to self or others, they have a legal and ethical obligation to take reasonable steps to prevent harm which may involve contacting law enforcement or emergency services, trusted contacts, or mental health professionals.

The provider will never approach a client in a public setting and identify them as a client.  The choice to interact in social settings is left to the client.  For example: you see your massage therapist in the grocery store, and you are with other people.  They will not make a move to acknowledge or greet you.  Don't take offense.  They are just protecting your privacy.  If you are comfortable with your companions knowing about your massage or shamanic practices, go ahead and say hello.  They will be happy to chat once you have shown that discussion is welcome.
