About Elizabeth

Massage & Bodywork Therapist

Elizabeth Longo is a licensed massage therapist in the state of Massachusetts, practicing on cape cod since relocating here in 2012.  She was trained at the highly regarded Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, NC, known for its top-tier education in the field of massage therapy and its focus on treating the "whole person".  She was first licensed in NC in 2011 after successfully completing the national MBLEx licensing exam.

BTI equipped its graduates with a strong foundation in both Swedish and Myofascial massage techniques while also delving into the realm of polarity therapy, somatic bodywork, and personal integrity trainings.  The importance of ensuring that one is centered and grounded as a massage and bodywork therapist before ever making contact with another is a core principle that still holds true in practice at embahdi.

Through the years Elizabeth has added numerous trainings and tools to her proverbial toolbelt including, but not limited to, trainings in hot stone massage, cupping massage, oncology massage, and a "Mother Massage" certification program in prenatal and postnatal massage care.

Core Shamanic Practitioner

From a very young age, Elizabeth has felt most at home in her body and most connected to her spirit and all those around her when spending time outdoors in the natural world.  She has always felt a deep kinship with all beings that share the earth and has experienced the sometimes-inexplicable ways in which we are all tied together in the greater web of life.

In 2005 she was given a language for many of her deeply held, but unarticulated, truths when she stumbled upon a Basic Workshop in Core Shamanism offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.  The experiential workshop blew the doors right off of her mind and opened her up to practical techniques that allowed her to not only discover the deeper, unseen, spiritual reality that exists right along side our ordinary everyday world, but to  explore that spiritual realm and form relationships with those who dwell there.

Seeing the world "through the eyes of the heart" has impacted every aspect of her life since and is what first drew her to a career in massage therapy and the healing arts.  Over the past 20+ years Elizabeth has deepened both her practice and her training through casual sessions with various teachers as well as advanced residential experiential trainings with the FSS.
